What we do
Services
Most of what a practice does is routine — and routine done well is what keeps teeth. Below is what we offer and what actually happens when you come in for it.

Check-ups and examinations
A look at every tooth, your gums, and the soft tissue around them, plus X-rays when they're due. We tell you what we see, what we'd watch, and what — if anything — needs doing now rather than later.

Hygiene and gum care
Scale and polish to remove the plaque and tartar a brush can't reach, with advice on the specific spots you're missing. If your gums bleed when you floss, this is usually the appointment that sorts it out.

Fillings and repairs
Tooth-coloured fillings for decay and for chips or worn edges. We match the shade to the tooth next to it, so a repair doesn't announce itself every time you laugh.

Crowns, bridges and dentures
For teeth that are cracked, heavily filled or missing. We take an impression, fit a temporary, and talk you through the options and costs before anything is made.

Root canal treatment
When decay or infection reaches the nerve, this saves the tooth instead of removing it. It's done under local anaesthetic and is usually far less dramatic than people expect.

Teeth whitening and cosmetic work
Whitening, composite bonding and veneers, for when you want to change how your teeth look rather than just keep them healthy. We'll be honest about what's achievable and what isn't.

About Northgate Dental
Northgate Dental is a general dental practice in Leeds. We're small on purpose: the same faces each visit, notes that get read before you sit down, and appointments long enough that nobody has to be hurried out of the chair.
A first visit is mostly a conversation. We look, we take any X-rays that are due, and then we go through what we found on a screen you can actually see. You'll leave knowing the state of your teeth, what we'd suggest, and what it would cost — whether or not you book anything further that day.
We treat nervous patients regularly, and we'd rather you told us at the start than sat through it. Say so when you book and we'll allow extra time, agree a signal for stopping, and take it at your pace.
